I placed my hand to the ground at the park near my parent’s house. September 10th, 2025 started like any other day—school with kids, lunch, and then a little playtime in the beautiful late summer weather. I remember the leaves were just starting to change.
As the kids were running around and going up and down the slides, I placed my hand on the playground surface and prayed for the land I was on. “Lord, heal this land in Jesus Name.” Being seven months pregnant, I stayed down toward the ground in that position and looked at my phone.
Charlie Kirk had just been shot. I saw a video of it from afar, thankfully, and not up close.
I remembered him from years ago. And then just that last year I started seeing him around more and more. I immediately felt like this was something big, as I had seen so much in the past nine months of his rising voice. I saw Charlie look transgender young adults in the eye and encourage them to “not wage war on their bodies.” He listened as other people cursed him to his face. He often proclaimed Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life. I think God had given me an alert of things to come. I immediately saw this moment as something earth shattering because I had started paying attention to his voice rising above the depravity of the current generation.
Somewhere in the middle of the last decade, my perspective of USA shifted. I have lived mostly in Africa and I started to see battles as territorial and lands were fought over in the spirit realm. I started praying for my African Island in terms of the Lord healing the land and not just healing people. We are of course, humans, that were made from dirt.
I carried this new burden for lands in prayer. When we were leaving Africa for a season in the USA I asked God what He had for me in America. I had been given an assignment, but I had no idea it was going to look like interceding on behalf of innocent blood that was spilled.
Father, we repent. Heal our land. Only your Son’s blood can do it.
"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land." --2 Chronicles 7:14
