I have three weeks off until my classes start. Before I do a little bit of traveling these next few weekends (once to Germany--er--Deutschland ja!, and the other to the South of France) I've taken the liberty of planning my wedding.
I found Pinterest to be very helpful for ideas and I think ranunculus with baby's breath might be the way to go instead of peonies because I'm told they keep longer and are less expensive--ALICIA YOU DON'T HAVE A BOYFRIEND! Oh, THAT. Yes, in due time Mr. Conscience. In my reasoning, I will never have another three weeks "off" in my entire life so I should make use of it.

On another related aspect, in my Housewife In Training sessions (also known as HWIT), I've been trying my hand at this cooking thing. Here in my French living quarters I've discovered the cheap and great joy that is couscous. This is thanks to my roommates that are a little more learned at this thing than I (a TRL shout out to Jacie and Kristi!). At one point the only seasoning we had left in our cupboard was some chicken boullion cubes and pepper left over from last semester's tenants which sufficed. At least it's enough grain to fill the stomach so the coffee we drink around here doesn't make you go mad.
Other items on my "cheap" list for the average exchange student in Europe:
--Dark chocolate, the generic store brand, only .56 cents
--One baguette for 1€ can last at least two days...we eat bread like a hobbit here
--Brie cheese for as little as 2€ which lasts a whole week!
--Packets of "just add water" potato soup for .89 cents
--You can skim the markets for cheap vegetables like the bag of green beans I've been eating--1€.
After a list like that you can feel free to spend your money on that leather purse you wanted and at least one café a day for 2€.
Yup, it's tastes just as good as it looks.
More importantly, Jesus is so good. At one point I got this vision of a Dixie cup full of wine and He tells us:
"You've only just begun to taste my goodness"
Yippee!
"No one can be really esteemed accomplished, who does not greatly surpass what is usually met with. A woman must have a thorough knowledge of music, singing, drawing, dancing, and the modern languages, to deserve the word; and besides all this, she must possess a certain something in her air and manner of walking, the tone of her voice, her address and expressions, or the word will be but half deserved.''--Miss Bingley, Pride and Prejudice
I try...
alas...
Still so much to learn.
